Alive Profile Terms of Use

1. Introductory Provisions

1.1. The purpose of these Alive Profile Terms of Use (the “Terms of Use”) is to regulate the rights and obligations of the GTS Alive Operator and the Alive Profile user.

1.2. By using the Alive Profile, the User agrees and undertakes to comply with these Terms of Use; moreover, the User acknowledges and represents that he or she understands the information about the processing of personal data pursuant to the Privacy Policy.

1.3. By accepting these Terms of Use, the User concludes a contract for the provision of Alive Profile services with GTS Alive.

1.4. The content of the services is provided free of charge, unless the User is notified of any paid service in advance and agrees with such service by accepting separate terms of use.

2. Operator and Contact Details

2.1. The user profile comprising the Alive Profile user interface (the “Alive Profile”) is set up and operated by GTS ALIVE ME DMCC, license number (IČ): DMCC-073822, with its registered office at DMCC Business Centre, Unit No: 3928, Jewellery & Gemplex 3, Dubai, United Arab Emirates (“GTS Alive”).

3. User

3.1. The Alive Profile is intended, without restrictions, for all individuals (the “User”), including holders of any ISIC, ITIC, IYTC, and AliveID card (the “ID”) (including holders of any ID or digital ID issued during studies (and to graduates) by an educational facility/school/university/college (the “School”) according to internal procedures of such School) and AliveID membership cards (the “Card”).

3.2. Any use of the services by a User under the age of 18 (eighteen) years shall be subject to consent of his or her legal guardian. Details relating to consents of legal guardians are available here.

4. Alive Profile Functionalities

4.1. The purpose of the Alive Profile is to store and display issued IDs and Cards, purchased insurance, and other functionalities. Furthermore, if the User agrees, he or she will receive relevant contents, including selected commercial communications by electronic means; in return, he or she may take part in various marketing events for news subscribers – e.g. contests for consumers. The Alive Profile is available in the Alive App mobile application.

4.2. Overview of functionalities:

4.2.1. Basic Alive App functionalities:

  • Overview of valid IDs;
  • Overview of digital IDs;
  • Overview of purchased insurance and possibility to download relevant documentation relating to insurance policy;
  • Possibility to update User’s personal data (such updates shall apply solely to GTS Alive);
  • Possibility to generate digital ID;
  • In selected cases, the possibility of using a digital ID Pass for chip access control systems (“Alive App Key”).
  • Popular discounts and the possibility to save discounts in favorites.

4.2.2. Marketing section functionalities:

  • Receipt of selected relevant news through all means according to any preferences, including through electronic means;
  • Possible notifications – based on settings;
  • Contests – as a reward for subscribers of selected news;
  • Customization of displayed information based on identified preferences of the User;
  • Possibility to receive School notifications as part of a graduate club – for graduate IDs only.

4.2.3. The User acknowledges that the functionalities of the Alive App mobile application (the “Application” or the “Alive App”) are regulated in the Alive App Terms of Use and are not governed by these Terms of Use. The Alive App Terms of Use are available here. The User expressly acknowledges that GTS Alive is not responsible for the Alive Profile services or functionality in another country selected by the User, since a different company operates the Alive Profile in each country (overview available here, Section 8.2).

4.3. Information on displaying digital IDs:

A digital ID is displayed automatically after it is created, since the application assigns it to the User based on his or her unique identifier.

If a digital ID is not displayed, the User may contact technical support at info@mystudentcard.org.

The User is also entitled to manually add a digital ID Pass in accordance with these Terms of Use. 

The User is not allowed to add one ID Pass to multiple Alive Profiles. 

The User is not allowed to have multiple Alive Profiles. 

In the event that duplicate profiles are found, GTS Alive is entitled to: 

  • Delete duplicate Alive Profiles,
  • Prevent the use of one ID Pass in multiple Alive Profiles,
  • Assign the ID Pass to a single Alive Profile.
  • Block an Alive Profile. 

The following types of IDs and Cards may be displayed in the Application:

  • International student identity card (the “ISIC”);
  • International youth identity card (the “IYTC”);
  • International teacher identity card (the “ITIC”);
  • IDs and cards with AliveID licenses (student, employee, graduate, membership card) (the “AliveID”).

5. Alive Profile Activation/Login

5.1. The User shall create his or her Alive Profile in the Alive App mobile application by properly and accurately providing the following information:

  • Name and surname;
  • Date of birth;
  • Telephone number.

The User agrees with these Terms of Use by tapping the relevant confirmation button; he or she also becomes familiar with personal data processing relating to the management of the Alive Profile – the User particularly gives his or her consent to the transfer of his or her personal data from the Alive App operator to the Alive Profile operator, GTS Alive.

The User acknowledges that by tapping the confirmation button, his or her personal data are transferred from the Alive App administrator (i.e. GTS ALIVE Group s.r.o., ID No. (IČ): 09296727 , with its registered office at Na Maninách 1092/20, Holešovice, 170 00 Prague 7, registered in the Commercial Register maintained by the Municipal Court in Prague, section C, entry no. 334013) to the Alive Profile administrator (i.e. GTS Alive); the transferred data shall include email and email verification data (with such email being automatically set as the User’s primary email), and provided data including name, surname, date of birth, and telephone number.

The User may optionally add the following information in his or her Alive Profile settings: gender, areas of interests, and other emails, specify a primary email for communication, add a telephone number for communication, add a contact address (and set a primary address, if there are several addresses).

If the User is under the age of 18 (eighteen) years, the consent of his or her legal guardian shall be obtained in accordance with Article 6.

5.2. A profile is created upon successful activation, which is confirmed by a confirmation email. (If the User is under the age of 18 (eighteen) years, his or her Alive Profile is only created after the confirmation of such User’s legal guardian.)

5.3. The profile is created and managed for an indefinite period of time.

5.4. The use of IDs/Cards shall be subject to the Terms of Use for IDs and Cards and the User shall comply with any provisions thereof.

5.5. GTS Alive does not guarantee that all services would be error-free, available at all times and/or that they would not be damaged or attacked.

5.6. Specific uses of IDs for specific School functions are not provided by GTS Alive, but by the relevant School(s); GTS Alive shall not be responsible for the potential uses of IDs within Schools.

5.7. An ID may be used in the GTS Alive network of benefits as well as in the ISIC Association international network of benefits (the “Benefit Network”). A User with a valid digital ID can take advantage of benefits and discounts offered within the Benefit Network in accordance with the Terms of Use for IDs and Cards.

5.8. In order to ensure easy use of IDs/Cards, Users are signed in to their Alive Profiles permanently. The User undertakes to protect access to his or her mobile device with the use of appropriate security features (such as passwords, etc., depending on the relevant mobile device) and to protect such security features, particularly passwords.

5.9. If a mobile device is lost or stolen, the Alive Profile login information must be changed immediately. It is also possible to block a profile to prevent any unauthorized use thereof. The procedure for blocking a profile is described in Article 9.

5.10. The User represents that all the information provided by him/her is correct and true. The User is not entitled to enter incorrect, false or erroneous information.

6. Age Verification

6.1. The Holder agrees that any data to be completed in the Alive App or Alive Profile will be true, accurate, and complete. If, according to the completed and declared date of birth, the Holder is under the age of 18 (eighteen) years, he or she shall provide his or her legal guardian’s email address.

6.2. Such legal guardian shall confirm his or her agreement with the child’s registration to an information society service in the form of the Alive Profile within 1 (one) hour. Once the legal guardian confirms his or her agreement, the Alive Profile shall be created. With his or her confirmation, the legal guardian agrees with these Terms of Use and Information about the Processing of Personal Data – both for the legal guardian and the child.

6.3. Any personal data of the legal guardian required for the mandatory verification of child’s consent shall be processed in the manner described here.

7. Other Functionalities

7.1. Transferring personal data between Alive Profiles in different countries

For instance, if a UAE student has an internship abroad and prefers to use his or her Alive Profile in the given country (e.g. in order to use local discounts), such student can request the transfer of his or her data.

This is done to ensure that the Holder is not required to undergo the profile registration process in each country where an ID is issued to such Holder. If an ID is issued to a Holder abroad under a foreign profile, such Holder may request the transfer of his or her data to a UAE profile, for example. However, the relevant ID is always displayed in the profile of the country in which it has been issued.

7.2. Products, services, IDs or Cards not found

If a Holder is unable to pair his or her existing services, IDs or Cards, such Holder can still pair the relevant IDs/services (insurance) manually under these Terms of Use. In order to pair them manually, the Holder taps the add ID/insurance field and fills in the ID/insurance number; the information is verified in the database and if any products are found, they will be displayed in the Profile. The User is not allowed to add one product (one ID Pass, one insurance product, etc.) to multiple Alive Profiles. The User may not have multiple Alive Profiles or to allow third parties to use them.  

In the event that a User is found to have assigned a single ID Pass or service to multiple Alive Profiles of the same User, GTS is entitled, beyond the scope of its authority under these Terms of Use, to cancel the assignment of an ID Pass or such product in all Alive Profiles and to keep the assignment only for the most recent registered Alive Profile. One User is considered to be the same person having multiple Alive Profiles registered with multiple email addresses. 

In the event that the User circumvents these Terms of Use, misuses the ID Pass, other products or the Alive Profile, GTS Alive is entitled to suspend all services, block the Alive Profile or claim any damages with immediate effect. 

7.3. Missing photograph

If a User has no photograph uploaded for his or her digital ID/Card, he or she cannot use such digital ID until a photograph is uploaded. A photograph may be uploaded directly to the Alive App. In order to authenticate User’s photograph, the User must – together with such photograph – also upload his or her identity document (such as ID card, passport, etc.). Any photographs uploaded in the Alive Profile are approved within 5 (five) working days. If a photograph is not approved, the User is notified of the steps to be taken in order to provide his or her photograph.

7.4. Alive App Key

In order to enable selected digital ID Passes in schools where the technology used by the school makes it possible, the Alive App Key system is provided for the purpose of chip functionality in the same way as in the plastic ID Passes.  

For the purpose of using the GTS Digital ID Pass in attendance and other systems, the ETUGATE system is provided in the form of the Alive App Key, which makes it possible to use the digital ID passes in the same way (e.g., for placing them to a reader directly from a mobile phone from the Alive App) as plastic ID passes. For this reason, the personal data is forwarded to ETUGATE for user validation and granting of access permissions. The purpose of the processing of personal data by the recipient is also to provide notification of the activation of the Alive App Key, to check the functionality of the system, the functioning of the Alive App Key in the Alive App or, more precisely, Alive Profile, and to ensure the functioning of the entire service. 

8. Use of the Alive Profile

8.1. When using the Alive Profile, the User shall obtain detailed knowledge of and comply with these Terms of Use.

8.2. The User agrees that any data and declarations to be provided or made will be true, accurate, and complete.

8.3. The User undertakes to protect his or her device and Alive Profile access. In case of any risk, the User undertakes to notify GTS Alive without delay.

8.4. The User shall not cause damage to other Alive Profile users or impair the reputation of GTS Alive or its affiliates.

8.5. GTS Alive expressly prohibits any interference with the technical contents of the Alive Profile, any copies of the Alive Profile or installation of any software that interferes with the Alive Profile or alters its functionalities.

8.6. The Alive Profile contents, texts, graphics, software, and other aspects thereof, including the Application display and layout, are subject to copyright and used exclusively by GTS Alive. It is not possible to reproduce, download or otherwise distribute any contents without the express written consent of GTS Alive.

8.7. The User shall be fully liable for any damage or harm arising from the breach of these Terms of Use.

8.8. GTS Alive shall not be liable for any damage or harm arising in connection with the use of the Alive Profile by the User or third parties (whether with or without authorization).

8.9. GTS Alive shall not be responsible for the availability of the Alive Profile and/or any parts thereof.

8.10. The User shall not be entitled to any compensation for damage or harm due to the unavailability (even partial unavailability) of the Alive Profile or any functionality.

8.11. GTS Alive may carry out scheduled and unscheduled maintenance of the Alive Profile or any parts thereof; consequently, the Alive Profile or any part thereof may be unavailable.

9. Deleting or Blocking the Alive Profile

9.1. The User may delete or block his or her Alive Profile at any time. In order to delete or block his or her Alive Profile online, the User sends the request to the e-mail info@mystudentcard.org (for example, the User states “I request the cancellation/blocking of my Alive Profile").

9.2. GTS Alive may terminate the management of Alive Profiles or convert such profiles at any time. GTS Alive may, inter alia, delete any Alive Profile for the following reasons:

  • GTS Alive ceases to manage activated Alive Profiles or converts such profiles to other profiles;
  • User breaches these Terms of Use;
  • User commits any fraud or misconduct with regard to GTS Alive or attempts to circumvent these Terms of Use or acts contrary to accepted principles of morality, as appropriate;
  • User requests termination of the processing of personal data in connection with the management of his or her Alive Profile.

9.3. Each person can only have one Alive Profile.

9.4. GTS Alive does not guarantee that all services would be error-free, available at all times and/or that they would not be damaged or attacked.

9.5. Users are signed in to their Alive Profiles permanently. The User undertakes to protect access to his or her mobile device with the use of appropriate security features (such as passwords, etc., depending on the relevant mobile device) and to protect such security features, particularly passwords.

9.6. If a mobile device is lost or stolen, the Alive Profile login information must be changed immediately. It is also possible to block a profile to prevent any unauthorized use thereof. To block a profile, proceed as follows: Send an email to info@mystudentcard.org.

9.7. If the User forgets his or her password, he or she can request password reset; in such case, a password reset link is sent to a User’s email, where the User is asked to enter a new password; such new password must comply with essential security rules.

9.8. The contract for the provision of services in connection with the Alive Profile shall remain in full force and effect, until terminated by the User and/or GTS Alive.

9.9. It is no longer possible to use the Alive Profile functionalities foreseen herein following the contract termination; the User will thus be unable to display his or her digital ID and will only be able to a plastic one.

9.10. The contract is terminated no later than 7 (seven) working days from the notice of termination of the Alive Profile operation given by GTS Alive or after the User submits his or her request for termination to GTS Alive.

10. Final Provisions

10.1. The operation of the Alive Profile and the Terms of Use shall be governed by the laws of the United Arab Emirates. Any dispute that cannot be resolved amicably shall be decided by a competent court of the United Arab Emirates.

10.2. GTS Alive shall not be responsible for the availability of the Alive Profile and/or any parts thereof.

10.3. The User shall not be entitled to compensation for any damage that might be incurred in connection with the use of the Alive Profile and/or due its unavailability.

10.4. If the Alive Profile contains any links to third-party websites, GTS Alive shall not be responsible for such links or contents of such websites.

10.5. These Terms of Use are effective as of 1. January 2025; GTS Alive may amend these Terms of Use effective as of the effective date of the notice or such later date as may be specified in the notice. The change will be notified no later than two weeks in advance by e-mail to the User’s e-mail address provided during the registration process. If the User does not agree with any such change, he or she may terminate the use of the services under these Terms of Use on the effective date of the notified change.
